John Sloan Smith II
Born in Indianapolis, Indiana I have spent most of my life (with the exception of attending college) in the Midwest. After attending both Vanderbilt University and Indiana University I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 1980. Prior to my career in real estate I held numerous executive level positions in the relocation industry with Mayflower Transit and Allied Van Lines, respectively. My experience in the relocation industry, working with both corporate and individual clients, taught me the importance of providing the highest level of service and personal attention to every client, regardless of the size of the transaction.
Shortly after receiving my real estate license in Indiana I made the decision to relocate to Sarasota and join the Rooks-Morris Real Estate team. In January of 2009 Rooks-Morris Real Estate merged with Prudential Palms Realty and at that time I became an agent for Prudential. Since the relocation I have become an active member of the community through organizations such as: The Downtown Partnership, Habitat for Humanity and The Sarasota Chamber of Commerce. In addition, I have achieved GRI status (Graduate Realtor® Institute), the highest educational certification available through the National Association of Realtors. My leisure time is spent: golfing, sailing, scuba diving or bicycling. Sarasota provides the perfect back drop for these activities. My wife, Abby and I have four grown children who we're very proud of and who we love to visit in their home towns of New Orleans, LA, Boulder, CO and Indianapolis, IN.
In my prior professional life I spent a significant amount of time traveling to other communities around the country. I can't think of another community that has as much to offer as Sarasota and I'm delighted to call it home! If you're searching for high quality, professional real estate services, I hope you'll consider contacting me in the near future.
